Runtamuffin is a lovable hen who grows from being the runt of the litter to become the leader of the group and everyone's favorite barnyard member. Runti believes in overlooking differences in size or appearance to become friends with all the other animals. A good lesson for all of us.

The illustrations are lovely and well thought out to fit the personalities and story.  The book would be suitable for classroom reading, storytelling, or bedtime reading. This book will appeal to children ten years and younger that are animal lovers.
